Questions
The website questions trades ask.
Do I need to write the content myself?
No. On the Growth package we write the copy for your key pages. On the Starter package we'll need some basic info from you (services, areas, a bit about the business), but we do the actual writing. You won't be staring at a blank screen.
What if I already have a website?
That's fine. Most of the businesses we work with have something already, just not something that works properly. We can keep your domain and transfer everything over. Your existing site stays live until the new one is ready to launch.
How long does it take?
A Starter site typically takes 1–2 weeks from when we receive your content and feedback. Growth sites usually 3–4 weeks. We'll give you a realistic timeline upfront, not an optimistic one.
Will I be able to update it myself?
Yes, if you want to. Depending on what platform works best for your site, we'll set you up with a simple CMS and walk you through making basic changes. Or you can leave the updates to us on the Managed plan, whichever suits you.
Is this the same as SEO?
No. Every site we build has the technical foundations done right: proper structure, titles, schema markup, sitemaps. But ongoing SEO (ranking campaigns, link building, Google Business Profile management) is a separate service. A good website is the starting point, not the whole answer.
What do you need from me to get started?
Very little to begin with: a 30-minute call, a few photos of your work, your logo (if you have one), and answers to a short brief about your services and areas. We'll ask for everything in a simple document so nothing gets missed.
How much does web design cost?
Every plan includes a professional website. Starter is £149 setup + £99/mo, Growth is £199 setup + £179/mo, and Pro is £299 setup + £279/mo. No VAT on top. The setup fee covers the initial build, and the monthly covers hosting, support, and ongoing work.
How much does it cost to host and maintain a website?
Hosting, SSL, domain renewal, security updates, and ongoing support are all included in your monthly plan. There's no separate hosting cost. After 12 months, you can also buy your website outright for £499 if you'd prefer to self-host.
